Tigga5 39 Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 Is there any way to disable the zoom in/out transition effect that plays whenever loading a new page or view in the Emby Universal app for Android TV? This effect makes navigation feel noticeably clunky and slower than necessary, making the app look more like an early prototype than a polished, professional product. It’s especially frustrating because every other platform I’ve tested — including Emby for Android TV, Roku, web browser, Fire tablets, and Samsung TV — has much smoother, faster transitions without this distracting zoom animation. Even my Android phone, running the same version of the app, doesn’t show this issue. It seems to be specific to using the Universal app on Android TV devices. Here's a video showing the problem: you can clearly see how the background, thumbnails, icons, and other elements zoom in and out every time the view changes. Compared to other devices, it really hurts the user experience on Android TV, where fluid navigation is especially important. Please consider adding an option to disable this transition effect or removing it entirely for a smoother, more consistent experience across devices. 20240610_092440.mp4 20240610_092539.mp4
Luke 42077 Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 hi, yes we are working on improving this. Thanks.
Lessaj 467 Posted April 19, 2025 Posted April 19, 2025 Something that might help with this, not just within Emby but across the system, is if you enable the developer options you can reduce the animation scales to .5x - there's 3 different options that you have control of. I do this on all my android devices.
