Error free playback exceeded yet I have paid for app

So I’ve had a couple of friends have this problem. Even though they fought the app from the play store or in this case the Amazon App Store the app is still trying to say free playback, exceeded, even though that shouldn’t be a problem when you have paid for the app. 
And I don’t know how to solve it. He has deleted the app clear data on his Firestick re-downloaded it from the Amazon App Store sign back in, and as soon as he tries to play something, it comes up with that message.

Exactly what was purchased and from where?

Have you tried the "Restore Purchase" button?

where is the restore purchase button? I’ve been through every menu option in the app and I don’t see it. And I don’t understand I’ve got four all purchased from the same place store. Only one is doing this free playback exceeded while the other three are not. Now I’m not talking about Emby Premier so if you’re talking about the restore purchase, that’s on the server that’s not gonna change anything. I’m talking about that. I paid for the app the one time unlocked through the play store.

The android tv app was paid for through the play store by the one time unlock fee jun 9, 2023. 
and no problems till just very recently.

I know but it was purchased on firestick way back last year too. But I have my ex and my kid getting the same thing on android tv box where the app was purchased on the play store.

User menu? I assume you mean my name up at the top well when I click on that it says switch server or sign out and then if I go over to the cogwheel, of course none of that has anything to do with purchasing.

This is not true. The Play Store works fine with just a little tweaking on the Fire sticks. Of course it does not work without some tweaking but i have it on my Fire devices and it took me very little time to get it. 

One warning: if you do install the Google play store on a Fire device you then can install any app but there are some that do not work correctly or, in some cases, at all. You just have to test to see what will and will not work. 

There is also an app called "Apps2fire" that allows anything installed on an Android device to be sent to a Fire device.

Most of the time either method works just fine and I have several Google play apps installed on my Fire devices.

Yeah, it does work but it’s a pain in the butt to install and your average person isn’t going to do it. But what they were meaning is that just because you purchased it in the Google play store doesn’t mean that it translates over to a fire device which I knew.
I personally don’t like the fire sticks. I don’t like the way that Amazon controls everything. Like if you wanna search in Emby, you have to click on the magnifying glass then you have to click the text box then you get a keyboard pop-up then you can click the voice search. Then you still have to click done.  Before it actually start searching. We’re on the android TV boxes. As soon as I click on the magnifying glass it automatically brings up the microphone and I can just voice search what I want boom.  It’s just simpler

I am not as I use my Shield a lot more than any of my Fire devices. I also came across this which seems to say that using Fire devices will get more complicated shortly. 

Amazon Fire TV Will Reportedly End App Sideloading Support As We Know It This Year

This is disappointing for me as it means I will have to either use my Roku or get another device for my bedroom. 
I HATE CHANGE.

What's the version number of the app you are using?

If it is the standard app, it doesn't have an unlock or ability to restore.  Amazon does not allow different apps to share in-app products.

Android tv app. I am on an android tv box currently with the same issue. The google box is using 2.1.26 
I know that the standard app does not have the unlock.

If the option to restore the unlock isn't there then that means the app thinks it is already unlocked.
