KevinSartori 22 Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Hi. I use Emby server with Infuse on my Apple TV. Infuse recently added support for .STRMLNK files, which allows Infuse to launch directly to a specific title in a separate streaming app. Emby doesn't recognize these .STRMLNK files. I tried shortening the extension to .STRM, which Emby recognizes, but I received an error in Infuse when I tried to "play" that file. Here are the notes from the recent update: -- What’s new in beta 2 (5166) 4/11/25 Library: Added support for .strmlnk files for linking to other services* *strmlnk notes: These are simple text files with the extension changed to .strmlnk. Inside is a single line with a direct link to a video title on a 3rd party service (Netflix, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, etc…). Naming should follow the standard Infuse movie/TV show formats We open all URLs as-is, relying on apple-app-site-association to handle them. The only exception is Amazon - for it, we try to extract the content ID from the URL and open it using their deeplink scheme. On pre-playback, the button says “Open” instead of “Play” Metadata fetching is available, but local (generated) thumbnails metadata will not be Downloads are not available In the Add Files dialog, these are shown as unsupported files (since we can’t play them, and it doesn’t really make sense to allow opening them from there either) Movie folders should also use the .strmlnk extension, and the presence or absence of this extension on a folder should match that of the associated file. Otherwise, we won’t recognize it as a movie folder -- Could you please add support for these .STRMLNK files in Emby?
