Lee 212 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Would it be possible to access the roku app from outside the network (as the roku is always on) to send a magic packet on the internal lan to wake the server? (my router is sh*t and I can't wake on WAN)...
Deihmos 169 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I would like the roku to send a wake on lan signal from within the network. All the other apps like the windows 8.1 app and MBC seem to do it but not the roku.
Guest Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 FYI, there is a private Roku channel that will send a magic packet and wake up a computer on your LAN: https://owner.roku.com/add/WoL
vaise 340 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hi. Reviving this thread - as I finally have the other 24/7 services off my main server and I am ready to have it go to sleep to save some of that 24/7 power. I cant get either of the roku emby apps to wake the main PC up. Is there something that I have to setup ? Thanks,
ebr 16169 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Thanks for reporting back. Can you elaborate on why it wasn't working for you at first to help someone else down the line?
Solution vaise 340 Posted May 20, 2017 Solution Posted May 20, 2017 Hi Ebr, I think it was my server not being setup correctly in the bios from memory. V. 1
