Back Button Should not Exit

Recommended Posts

In the new windows app, when multi-tapping the back button, it's far too easy to accidentally close the app.

Hi, what device are you running the app on?

I report another back button error.

On Emby 2.222.2.0 sometimes back button don' go back to previous menu but open the hidden left side menu,
and no way to go back.

So i choose on left side menu "Home" to "solve" this UI issue.

This issue happens not on the main menu of course (it's a standard behaviour) but when you're playing a movie,
you go back to stop it and then you go back again to go to Movie menu... and  sometimes you can't !
Left side menu appears and if you go back again it disappears and you'are stuck in a loop !

Windows 11 pc. TV mode. Issue caused by both ESC key and back button on remote.

I have also seen the behavior reported by nicko84

Hi, this issue seems to still be outstanding, or at least I can't find a solution.

In the old emby theater 3.0.21, windows 11, one can go to settings->general and find at the bottom a switch to choose whether to exit when the 'back' button is pressed.

I can't find this option in the new emby 2.234.2.0

It's super frustrating when I'm using my remote and I accidentally exit the app. It happens to me over and over. And it takes so long for this app to launch....

I agree this issue is big usability problem. Esc repeatedly should end with a confirm exit menu like this.

I think the scenario described by @frankmbis valid.

Fundamentally, the last thing I want is to be using my remote control from the couch and then be forced to get up and go fiddle with my mouse and keyboard.

In my case, I'd rather not see any options. I'd prefer it to block the back button at that point. I find that I often get an extra "back" when I'm using the remote, simply because I press it a bunch of times, expecting to end up at Home. I've been using Emby since it was a plugin to WMC and I'm used to (and like) the way the "back" button has always behaved. It makes sense to me to have to seek out the "exit" option in the menu.
