RLanger7228 73 Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 (edited) Some of these have been discussed before, but I am re-grouping them as a reminder, hoping they might be considered as the next update approaches. They should be small features that won't require a lot of coding, so should be easy to fit in without taking up too much space or processing power. 1) Better filter/search options When viewing groups of movies, the Filter option currently only offers Play state/Genre/rating/studio/year/media info/extra features/metadata. The Filter option should also offer narrowing the field to specific actors/directors/Authors (PEOPLE), and TAGS. It is currently only possible to search for movies by actor by doing a general search by name, selecting Person, then the actor information comes up, with movies below the other information. Having it as a filter option would allow narrowing selected groups of movies, instead of having to search the entire media collection. Allowing multiple filters to use an AND (selection must match ALL criteria)/OR (selection can match ANY criteria) complex search option would make it much more powerful. There should also be a filter option offered when looking at individual collections. The "standard" filter options are available when looking at the entire Collections page (SS 1), but including the Filter option on each individual collection page (SS 2) would allow narrowing among a specific group of movies. This would be helpful for collections that include a lot of choices. Some of my collections number in the hundreds. Currently the Search option is only available as a separate feature, which searches the entire media library. If a Search option were offered within individual pages it would be helpful to find specific items within the smaller, selected groups of items displayed. 2) Using lists to enter Genre/People/Studios/Tags within the Edit Metadata section. Currently, to enter new information, each new item must be typed out completely. If typing were to call up a list of previously entered items that matched the first (few) letter(s) typed, it would both save a lot of typing and ensure that identical items are kept identical by avoiding mis-spelling. 3) Please add alpha-pickers to ALL lists entries & group choices (not just when listed by title).
