DoctorZoidberg 0 Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 I'll preface by saying I've checked https://emby.media/support/articles/Music-Naming.html?q=tag, https://emby.media/support/articles/Audio-Book-Naming.html?q=tag, and checked through existing forum posts & discussions. I can't find anywhere that states what tags get mapped to in Emby for Audio Books, and for me at least it's non-intuitive. For example, I'd expect Emby to display the Title tag as you know, the Title, but instead it seems to use the Album tag? Or maybe it does use the Title tag, but it looks almost like if you create an Audio Book library and view "Books" that the actual thing shown as a Book is an album, and you have to open it to see the proper book? Either way, it's not actually explained in the wiki/GH/website that I can find what/how the tags are mapped, other than some threads arguing about which should be used where. I'm also not sure if it's by design that an AudioBook library Book view shows Albums or if that's something I somehow set? Cheers!

Luke 42078 Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 HI, it is more or less the same as music. The book is the album. Each file within is one track in the book. Does that answer your question?
DoctorZoidberg 0 Posted April 13, 2025 Author Posted April 13, 2025 (edited) @Lukeyeah it does I think. I don't really like the logic of making books albums, but at least I know that's the design so can work with it (plus I can see how it makes sense for books with multiple underlying files). Any chance of getting the ability to control tag mappings/library structure for stuff like this? E.g. so we can set if it uses Album or Title for Book Title. Also I'm fairly sure I've seen mention of the ability to sort/group books by series before - any word on when that might be doable? Thanks! Edited April 13, 2025 by DoctorZoidberg
DoctorZoidberg 0 Posted April 13, 2025 Author Posted April 13, 2025 Ah, bonus question - multi disc books, the wiki says to tag with Disc # - is the tag field for that literally just "Disc"?

It's doable but then if you used Title for book title, where would the individual track title come from?
