Jellyseerr integration

Made a small plugin that integrates JellySeerr directly into Emby so you can search in Jellyseerr directly from Emby.
It has some limitations like only working in the web version of Emby but it's working (for me at least).
Please keep in mind i'm a total noob at programming so if it doesn't work for you then that might be the reason ;)

Use it, change the code, or what ever.. Do with it what you will, it was just something i made for my self.

Uploaded old version without Thumbnails support by mistake..
Heres an updated version.

Also, i will not do any more work to this plugin.. It's up to someone else if the plugin has interest.

Just that requests now have images instead of text only.

@LukeWhile i have your attention. It's not possible to get plugins like this with html in it to function in the apps like fx. the Android app?
Just curious. :)

It's a case by case basis where we have to review each one individually for that. We have to vet to make sure it will not cause our app to violate any store policies because even though it's your plugin, the store will come down on us for allowing it.

So not possible without you guys changing stuff as well.
Bit of a shame but understandable.

Unfortunately there's just a lot of rules that we have to follow.

So yeah.. I couldn't help my self plus i was bored so i updated the plugin.
It now has video discovery like "trending" " popular" and so on plus i fixed some stuff, it also checks to see if a video has already been requested as to not make multiple and identical requests.

I never got it to work properly with user tracking.. So in some rare instances it might be a little strange there, like when a user not registered in JellySeerr makes a request.

This time it will be the last i do to the plugin for sure, so someone else please take over if you want further development.

As before.. I'm somewhat a newbie at this, it does work on my side though.
Do with it the code what you want, i don't really care. though it would be nice with some credit if you further develop the plugin but absolutely not required! ;)

To the Emby team.. I know and understand why you don't want something like this in your apps but.. It would be awfully nice to have something like it though!
Maybe open for 3rd party or something so someone else could make it.

For people who need the instructions..
Just copy the EmbySeerr.dll into the plugin directory of Emby.

Man, awsome!

There has to be way to get this into the Emby TV App. Maybe as configurable URL Setting?

Hi.  We cannot support this within our apps.

I absolutely understand the reason why!
That said, can't you open for 3 party plugins with UI modifications for the apps?

That creates an even bigger issue.  Our apps are published in stores like Apple, Google and Amazon and we are responsible for their content and anything they do.  We cannot open up their capabilities to the world therefore.

I ask because many other apps including Kodi tend to get away with it.

At least in the case of google, unfortunately the process of enforcing store rules is such that they don't really do anything until someone alerts them about it. This leads to some apps being able to get away with things, while others not.

And when they do come down on you, and go to file your appeal, the first thing it says it that you can't point to other apps doing the same thing and use that as a defense of your app's behavior.

Again, i absolutely get all that. I just find it strange that an app as old and popular as Kodi can get away with it.

Life just isen't fair i guess. ;)

If you really want the functionality in-app then i made a plugin for Kodi as well.
https://github.com/yocksers/KodiSeerr
Does require you to use Kodi though ofc. but works on TVs and such.

That's all i going to say about that as this is the Emby forum and not Kodi, plus i'm not going to develop this any further. ;)

Kodi was kicked out of the Amazon store years ago.

Okay, didn't knowledge. It's as said understandable though.

Sad that a program can be banned for what users make for it. :(

Hello, how does the plugin work, I installed it well in the folder, I rebooted and perform the conf in the admin interface. But I don't see where the integration is? I guess in the search but I have nothing.

If in Emby Web, go to App Settings, and it's under Preferences.

I'm very new at programming so couldn't get it to show up any where else.

Maybe someone else can fix that problem.

It would be very interesting if it were included directly in the search page and not in a menu, but I think Emby is limiting this for security reasons.

@Luke can you confirm this? If it's possible to interact with something other than a menu, I'll try to modify it to integrate it directly into the search.
