Guest Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Hi Folks, I recently read, that the minimum System Requirements for MediaBrowser Server are a graphics card with at least 256MB. I'm running my MediaBrwoser Server on an old HTPC which now works as a Server/NAS in my Network. It has a AMD A6-3500 APU and 4GB DDR3 RAM. I set the max shared memory for the integrated APU graphics card to 32MB, so that I have more memory available for my SQL Server, which is running on the same machine. After Christmas I want to buy more RAM :-) Should I set my shared graphics memory then higher? Do I benefit from that? Or in short: For what needs MediaBrowser Server a graphics card? ;-) As far as I can say, MediaBrowser works pretty well with the current configuration.
Guest Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 So I will have no benefit from increasing my Video RAM? Thx
Beardyname 198 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 So I will have no benefit from increasing my Video RAM? Thx Nope, (unless you are moving your server to your tv-room to watch stuff on). Since transcoding is an cpu-task. 1
