You upload a wrong version of the program. Just as I stated in the original post. I Downloaded it a dozen times before happy to his credit realized that the site itself had an old and possibly corrupt version and I would never get beyond the problem until I got the program from a different source. I kept downloading the version from here, never guessing that Emby community had a bad download. It wasn’t until happy actually read the log file I posted and realized that just maybe I was right and he said to try getting the file from GitHub instead of here.

I reinstalled windows to get rid of any trace of the corrupt file and then reinstalled using the GitHub file and viola it worked, I had to delete and recreate the entire Emby directory but at least it works now. Thank God for happy. Because no one believed or even listened me, l was berated and threatened simply because no one cared to listen other than happy face, he saw that the log file I sent ln post 1, clearly indicated a corrupt installer. Which was found on this site. Maybe you weren’t the one  who uploaded it. But as the leader of this site, you were ultimately responsible.

I just don’t take well to being threatened when I’m doing exactly what I’m asked to do. I’ve purchased Emby in 6 different formats, always recommended it to everyone because it was a great program, but this was the first time that I ever sent a log file and was treated like a criminal.

Maybe just maybe your admin team should read the actual posts before jumping to conclusions and threatening.Your admin team didn’t even bother

The windows installer is basically just a stub program that downloads the latest release from Github and runs that installer, it's likely been used since Emby 3.0 was first launched because in reading what you provided there was a connection closed unexpectedly error meaning it wasn't able to query the Github API for the latest version and it basically fell back to a known version, which it tried to download but doesn't exist anymore. I have a copy of the setup executable from 8 months ago and it's identical to the one I downloaded today, I know that new versions have been released in those few months, and also the setup executable is very small which is further evidence that it's just a stub.

Since you reinstalled Windows you may have gotten rid of whatever problem you were having connecting to Github, it seemed to be purely within your local environment.

I don't see where you were threatened if you could point that out please.

They've not been threatened but have been issued a Warning (with no apparent effect, it seems).

Thanks for the feedback ! Now that you're signed in, I would suggest changing the password for your emby user and jotting that down somewhere.
