Yes would need to see server log but would suggest a issue communicating with with embydata server for the update.

Are you able to click that link and download the plugin?

Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred:

Thanks!

Here is the most recent server log, checking the alerts on the server I see more instances failing to install, as shown on this screenshot. Also if I click the links shown on the alert message it tries to download a file wich microsoft smartscreen flags as dangerous and wont let it install.

Hi, your connections to embydata.com are timing out and failing. Do you have something that could be blocking this? Are you using a vpn?

Hello again, no, as far as i know there isn´t anything blocking the connections on the server, the PC in which the server is installed is used exclusively for Emby server, i haven't installed any other software like VPN, 3rd party firewalls or something like that. I recall microsoft edge having an "auto vpn" setting or something, and windows network settings also have a built in VPN option. I´ll try to disable those options, but that will have to be next weekend as the server is on a remote location :( .

I do have access to my media from remote devices and playback seems to be "fine" no problems playing movies or music. so I don´t even know what those error imply or affect.

Will guess something flaky with smartscreen and will require manual intervention.  But may need to see the exact message.

It says:  "Microsoft defender smartscreen couldn't verify if this is a safe file because it is not downloaded regularly, make sure you trust the file and its origin before opening it" which is a normal message for unknown developers files, you select the option to "keep it anyways", and when runing it, the other message says.

" this program con not run in this system to find a version for your system please contact the software developer"

right now I'm thinking that the best solution is to uninstall emby service, clean registry and perform a fresh install. I´ve been running this server from several months to this day and hadnt have those kind f error messages

This is normal. Even though the downloaded extension is exe, it is not meant to be a runnable program. The server just unpacks the plugin from within it.

The problem is that if this is being caused by something else in your environment such as security software, vpn, etc, then you could end up with the same result on a new installation.
