hogrider92 0 Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 After an exhausted search in trying to resolve my problem, I'm posting here. In checking into this issue, I notced that on my dashboard under alerts, the recent one that corresponds with the time that I lost connection to my Roku and android apps was this: DLNA Updated to 1.4.8 on....my servers name. I've tried multiple times of uninstalling, re-installing, clearing caches. I still can not get it to load on either Roku or tablet. Every time I try to login in either through Emby Connect or manual login it fails. Works fine on the computer that the server is installed on, just no access anywhere else. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.

hogrider92 0 Posted April 7, 2025 Author Posted April 7, 2025 Luke, 1st, thank you for the quick response. On android tablet app, it goes to the select server screen. If I select my server or all get is the blue circle and then popp-up that says "Unable to reach my server" " We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again. Then if I try to use "Sign in wth Emby Connect" enter email and password, press sign in and it takes me back to previous screen to select server. Rinse, wash, repeat. when attemptng to load through Roku app it takes me to select server, which I do, select my name to sign into server, spinning circle, then nothing else, circle continues to spin. Tried deleting server and resign in to the same consequence. If I go to delete server it tkaes me to sign in and a pop-up that says: There was an error in processing the request. Please try again later. Timeout waitiing for a response from the server. OK press, attempt to wake server, nothing, The I can delete server. Next attempt to add new server, I enter in host and port, back to same error message. Next tried logging in with https://myserver.com and the error message I get now is We were unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again. -6 Could not resolve host myserver.com. If I try sign in with Emby Connect, scan barcode, it sends to the webpage to enter the pin on screen, enter pin, pin confirmed. Thank you.screen on tv goes to the spinning circle and remains. Server version on computer is 4.8.11.0 Hope this helps, thanks!
Solution pwhodges 2012 Posted April 7, 2025 Solution Posted April 7, 2025 Is the server computer running Windows? If it is, check that the network mode is set to "Private". Sometimes Windows updates or something can change this to "Public" without you realising. In case the choice seems odd, it's because "Private" means that the connections are private and so don't need to be restricted, whereas "Public" connections are more limited in what is allowed. Paul
