masmith516 4 Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Hi, I'm noticing that Ogg Vorbis files are display songs twice as if they are individual songs in an album. I've checked the album folder and none of the songs were duplicates. And I've checked the metadata and both songs are pointing to the same file. I'm thinking it has something to do with the id3 tags being saved. Any help to resolve this issue would be great. Thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Hi, do you have those same songs in another format, somewhere else?
masmith516 4 Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 (edited) I don't, but I've done some research on the files and other albums by the same artist. I found that their entire library (all the songs in all albums) are duplicated. Meaning that it's not exclusive to ogg vorbis files. I have other albums by that artist (De La Soul) and found that songs in mp3 format were also duplicated. Could it be something with the Emby database? Luke 42078 Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 If you have more than one copy of the same song then that is just what Emby does right now, but this is on our list for review for future updates. Thanks.
masmith516 4 Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 (edited) I do not have more than one copy of the same song. What I'm saying is that in Emby... every song for that artist (De La Soul) is duplicated in each album. Edited April 16, 2025 by masmith516 Added more text.
Luke 42078 Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Don’t you have two screenshots of the same songs but just different file format?
masmith516 4 Posted April 17, 2025 Author Posted April 17, 2025 Oh.. I understand the confusion now. Those are 2 different albums. First album is "Bionix" in ogg vorbis format. The second album is "Buhloone Mind State" in mp3 format. Two different albums in different folders under the same artist. I have more albums by this Artist in Emby and every album has duplicate songs.
Luke 42078 Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 OK. How many Emby libraries have you added, and what folder paths are added to each one?
masmith516 4 Posted April 17, 2025 Author Posted April 17, 2025 I've added 3. The attached image shows all my libraries.
Luke 42078 Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 OK. What you could try is to remove the music library, run a scan of all libraries to clean out the database, and then add it back.
