Is it possible to combine multiple movie collections into one parent collection?
Marvel series have several crossovers. I created a collection for each crossover, and now I'd like to combine all the crossovers into one collection for clarity.

Collection inside of collection has been ask for for a LONG time but, so for, there is no movement on that front.

But since movies can be in multiple collections there is no reason that a collection like you desire could not have movies from other collections.

I have a rather large "horror" collection and i also have a werewolf collection and "Werewolf of London" appears in both.
It is not exactly the same as having a collection inside of a collection but it works pretty well.

Thank you for the answer, but that's not what I want to do. In the example above, there are six Cross offers. I don't want to see the individual collections under Collections. I only want to see the Cross Ober collection there, and when I open it, the individual collections.

That is currently impossible. Judging by the time it has gone unimplemented by Emby i would say that it will remain unimplemented for the foreseeable future.

I too would like there to be collections within collections in Emby but that just ain't happening until Emby sees it as valuable enough to expend the resources to make it happen.
Right now Emby has a lot to work on and I doubt this will get any attention for some time, if ever.

Nested collections is probably very difficult to make it work without delays and bugs.  I am guessing that is the issue.

What about grouping your Marvel collections next to each other on your collection page.  The collection title can be anything, but if you edit the sort entry in the metadata it could be Marvel 01, then Marvel 02...  If you have to sneak one in between Marvel 01b.  The result is your collection page will group the sorted Marvel collections alltogether on the same 1 or 2 rows.  For users this is pretty friendly.  I know some people enjoy sorting everything within sub boxes and I am sure their closets are very organized.  I think most users having similar collections one after another is a pretty good experience... Maybe even nicer, you only have to click once to get into each collection.

It was once possible, but was removed many years ago.

It's return has been requested feature for years now, and someone brings the idea back every once in an while. Myself included.

The idea just never seems to get enough traction for the devs to take on the project of bringing it back.

Because there is too much logic that needs worked out to work properly... How many nesting levels to support, can a collection only be apart of one other collection or N? What happens when someone nests a level that has a sub nesting of items from a top level and now you're in an infinite self-referencing loop.  If you really want something wonky like this then its probably better to set up your library structure to support your "unique" grouping. I also never use collections and find them a waste of time and require multiple clicks to find something when you can just use search. I primarily use plex so the only ones I would think emby could use are the "discovery" type options like "tending" and those are only ever going to be 1 level deep/
