Drag and drop cast order broken?

So in the end the order shown in nfo is the order Emby is reading and really outside the realm of this topic of drag and drop as I do not see any issues here.  Unless I have totally miss read this topic.

ok, so what I am doing let TMM scape my metadata.

I then use the TMM UI to move the actor up and down the cast list and save nfo file

then scan the emby library that has the folder tv show is in.

then check to see if the actor has been move to where I want them.

For what ever reason if the actor has this <type>GuestStar</type> under there name in the nfo file the actor dose not move in the order of the list in emby (it dose in TMM)

If I got into notepad++ and delete that line (<type>GuestStar</type>) save the nfo file and then re-scan the library the actor is then moved in the list shown in emby

It start with drag and drop ( I can't change the title)

It's a totally different issue now.

Emby is not honoring edits made in the cast list by TMM. Its not reading the edited nfo file at the episode level.

I'm not editing the nfo file for actor order (I am doing that in TMM UI)

The only thing I am editing in the nfo with notepad is this line <type>GuestStar</type>

actors without <type>GuestStar</type> I can move with no issue

If I delete that line of code and save the nfo file emby then honors the edited cast list made in the TMM UI

If you scrape actors with TMDB (tbh, I don't think TMM writes that using any scraper), you'll never see that line/have <type> tag written under actor node.

I deleted the nfo file and re-scanned the episode with the correct TMDB selected and its still coming up. Not sure why. Like I said I'm still pretty new with TMM

I didn't even know that you could set series actors and episode actors to different metadata sources. (that's what I did) I had series set to get info from TMDB, but episodes from IMDB

I have no idea why. I guess I was just a sleep at the wheel that day.

I think I might have to delete everything and re-install TTM (with default settings) and start from scratch again. Not the end of the world. Wouldn't be the first time.

Don't use TMM but reorder cast on episode in TMM and nfo was rewritten with new cast order and Emby read it.  Have not figure out how to lock metadata in TMM but may be a factor.

Ok, guys thanks for the help. I am just going to clean slate this and start over.

Deleting all nfo and re-install TMM and go from there.

That is what I was doing. It was not working. I don't know why. Grim could be right. It might have something to do with having set IMDB as metadata source.

Like I said I'm deleting everything and starting fresh, but thanks. 

I've been trouble shooting this for like 6 hours. I need a break.

Yeah that is not happening on my system friend. I don't know why.

That why I am starting fresh. Like I said not a big deal.

And if emby plans on having director first then I wont have TMM scrape for directors anymore. (I already don't scrape for writers) I could care less. I want to see the actors. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry I refetched in TMM as that is why the order is different now as I don't use TMM I have not went through setting to disable stuff and probably a way older version than being used also.  

But per your nfo it will be Director-Actor.

Have you verified TMM is actually rewriting your nfo files to your changed order?  As it sounds like a TMM issue not a Emby issue.
