chooKcha 2 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Hello, I was trying to setup a VPN tunnel from my phone to my local network where Emby server is running so that I could access my media remotely. I have not yet been successful in accomplishing that, and somehow, I am now locked out of my account, and cannot login to emby to change server settings. When I try to login, I get the following message: "You've not been granted remote access to this server. Please ask your server administrator to grant you the appropriate access." I won't post the log files here, but would like to connect with Emby support to get a resolution as quickly as possible. Thanks!

Hi, You need to make sure the user has "Allow remote connections" enabled as shown above. Carlo
chooKcha 2 Posted April 2, 2025 Author Posted April 2, 2025 Okay, I resolved the initial problem by removing the subnet that I added to LocalNetworkSubnets in config/system.xml. I think where I went wrong was by not also adding the local network subnet as per: https://emby.media/support/articles/Connectivity.html "Ensure you also include the local network subnet that the server is connected to as well." I'm still working on getting access from VPN phone. 1

Carlo My understanding: That's one approach, but didn't really want to allow remote connections for security reasons- that's why I'm connecting with VPN. I was able to get the remote VPN connection working after I included both VPN subnet and LAN subnet in the LAN networks section under networking. "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server" is disabled, but the VPN still works. Got it all resolved, thanks! 1
