I have setup both videoroot/theme.mp3 and videoroot/backdrops/video1.mkv. This works great, so on my desktop I get motion background and audio. On my Android App, I get audio only. And, of course, on my Apple TV app I get nothing :D

However, last week, on my Chrome Desktop, only the theme.mp3 is working. I no longer get motion video, on movies that support it. Thoughts?

I have the Now Playing Background turned on for both video and audio under Display. Is there another setting somewhere I should check?

Hi, this isn't supported yet on apple tv, but hopefully in future updates.

You probably just can't see it. In portrait layouts on small screens it is currently not visible.

I full screened my Chrome Browser, and the video background is still not working.

Version 4.8.11.0
Chrome: 135.0.7049.42 (Official Build) (64-bit)
32 inch monitor: 2560x1440

What exactly made you think it wasn't working?

I took a look at Android App, and you are right, if I put the phone in landscape mode, video will play in background (neat!)

Separately, I click on a movie on a physical desktop computer, that is not a laptop, and has a detached 32 inch monitor plugged into it. I put the browser to full screen, and clicked on a movie. The audio plays in background. The video does not play in the background. I used to see the video playing in background, until last week. It does not play in background anymore, in a browser, on a desktop computer.

Any tips to fix background video not playing in Chrome Desktop anymore?

It's playing in Chrome on Windows for me.

Did you make sure you have it enabled for Chrome on that "device"?
Check your setting:

General Menu:
image.png

Playback menu:
Set Background Video Playback to always on.

I was looking in User Preferences -> Display, it was hiding in Emby Web Settings -> General.  Thanks for the screenshot and exact location. I'm not sure why or how that got turned off, but turning that back on fixed the issue.
