LOGINS NOT WORKING AT ALL: I seem to have THREE

I just got invited to a friends emby server, and I am about to RIP the logins apart:  I have ONE for Emby connect, I have ONE for Emby Forums, and I have ONE for my friends server.

I can login with NOTHING now, since I cant change the password for accessing the server:  I added bsbaker53 as the login here on the forums, had my friend  create me iamvtstrong53, then deleted it, because I could get NO help:  I cannot BELIEVE that you have 3 logins and NOTHING works:  I was logged in as iamvtstrong53 on my friends server, and changed the login to bsbaker53, but I cannot access anything at all.

Keep getting "invalid username/password"

why cant we use ONE login for EVERYTHING, and make it easier for a guy who ONLY wants to WATCH content?? 

I even have the username/password IN the PASSWORDS of firefox: and I STILL cant login??

What the heck am I doing wrong??  I cant be THAT stupid

Lets see if I can make sense of this:

I first had a login of iamvtstrong53, which I had to change cause I can't login with it, using Emby connect, or logging in directly to someone's media server:  I asked for this login to be deleted, I could NOT simply change the password, so I have this account connected to bsbaker53, which is this login:  Then, I had to use root@mydomain, and I get bsbaker53 as the local user, enter the pasword in my Firefox Password List, and NOTHING.........

Why??  I can't even login on ANY devices now, and I need someone to tell me how to make it so I can login to my friend's media server:  What do I use?  iamvtstrong53, bsbaker53, or my login root@mydomain? 

I have OVER 35 YEARS of experience online, and this app NEEDS a major kick in the PASSWORD File:  How is it "secure" to make it almost impossible to get logged in??

There are only two possible logins - the direct server login, and the forum login which can also be used for Connect.  Having two forum accounts (even if you call one a Connect account) doesn't serve any purpose.

Your friend can either just give you a direct login to their server (not using Connect), or they can (in his server) link a direct login in their server to your forum/Connect account.  Both of these things are set up by your friend for their server, and are nothing to do with Emby, who just supply the software and run this forum (including the Connect service). 

IOW, it is down to your friend to enable you to use their system - Emby does not supply or control any media, and no one here can help you resolve this.

Thank You for this information:  I was having problems because I had made iamvtstrong53 as a forum account - Then I could NOT easily change the password of this account, and I asked for this account to be DELETED, following the forum's guidelines.  I made the bsbaker53 account, and set the email so that I can connect,  Last night, I spoke with the individual that has the emby server:  I asked him to check the username, as I had it work a couple times with the bsbaker53 login, even when it was the iamvtstrong53 login, and that was strange, as it had worked before on my imac, and I even went to firefox "passwords", and bsbaker53 was there, and so was the password I had set.

So, I had a prior login, and looked at the account that his emby server was showing, had him change it to bsbaker53, and then set the password - It woks now - However, I was confused, and while I understand that there is a reason for the way it it set up, I found it hard to reset a password - I may do a small server on my network, BUT I want to make sure that I can login, and it was confusing because it asked for the email address a couple times, and a username a couple times.

Quick question:  If one is running an Imac M4, should I be downloading the emby server that rums on an M1, M2, or M3?

Glad you got sorted out.

As for a Mac server, I would presume the M3, being the nearest to the M4...  But @Lukewould need to confirm.
