Streaming setup in Live TV

Greetings everyone - newbee here.

I just installed Emby and have a setup question. I will 'hopefully' be using Emby to view and record streams from an IPTV provider. I have a rather large playlist [ m3u ] file and an EPG.xml file which I defined in the setup, however when I tap Channels at the top of the screen it displays - no entries ?  Now - I 've not YET purchased Premium and the screen does mention that Premium is required for Live TV and DVR services. So my question IS:  If I purchase Premium will the Channels list then populate?  The files I've setup work fine in other IPTV players - PotPlayer for example.

And a server question is it possible to setup Emby so that requests from an Amazon Firestick hit the Emby server then get forwarded to the IPTV provider? Does Emby route that stream 'reliably' back to the Firestick?  If more than one FS calls for attention does Emby handle that reliably ?  My server is a bit dated but it's an AMD Phenom 4 core with 8 gigs of DDR3 ram running Win11 Pro at 23H2, SSD for C drive and a 3tb drive for storage. All connections are gig ethernet with fiber coming into the house. Internet speed is great.

Does Emby work ok with a VPN like IPVanish or SurfShark ?
