ruedi 5 Posted March 30, 2025 Posted March 30, 2025 Hi Luke still the same - even with the new app. And now the big "BUT" Using Windows 10 does not result in this issue, only when it runs on Windows 11. Tested with AMD (77x series) and Intel (1345) unfortunately the sam on both. This is what powercfg reports: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS C:\Users\rzapf> powercfg /REQUESTS DISPLAY: Keine. SYSTEM: Keine. AWAYMODE: Keine. AUSFÜHRUNG: Keine. PERFBOOST: Keine. ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: Keine. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did the investigation while the player is running - and it seems the player is not registered for the energy management. Got reports of Android App (Smartphones) which will some times go to sleep during playback. Possible you can check this - if I can support you, please let me know. Emby-App Version: 2.222.2.0 Emby-Server_ Version 4.9.0.42 beta, running on Debian best regards. Rüdiger.
Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 @ruedi HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
ruedi 5 Posted April 1, 2025 Author Posted April 1, 2025 Hi Luke! Meanwhile I found the reason for the issue, but I expect the solution would not be so easy. When you start a normal playback session using a basic audio connection (using an audio card / HD audio interface) a driver will be called for this. In this case its registration can be found in the drivers section of "powercfg /requests". This is the signal for the power manager that it won't be the right time to send the PC to sleep - EMBY will stay on top and run the playback as long as it is needed. In my case the PC is connected via HDMI ("HD Audio Driver For Display Audio"). In this case no - lets call it semaphore will be created in the sections as shown above stay empty. As a result the PC is going very quickliy to sleep - what unsatifies the complete family Please find log in attachment. The "go to sleep" of the Emby Theater is around at timecode 11:24:36 I am wondering a bit why the Display Audio Driver did not appear in the requestor list of powercfg. Hope this helps RUE embyserver (1).txt EmbyClient.txt
softworkz 5065 Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 @ruedi - Just to make sure I understand correctly: You have configured your computer to enter sleep mode after a certain time When you play back audio in the Emby app, the PC doesn't go to sleep When you play back video it does go to sleep Is that right?
ruedi 5 Posted December 22, 2025 Author Posted December 22, 2025 Hi, sorry for coming back that late. It was a real busy year wirh a lots of familiar issues. To the problem: - the system is configurrd tobgo to sleep after a period of 15 minutes wihtout action - The playback is always done using the CPUs Hdmi interface to my Yamaha or Panasonic whatever I want to use - if I use Emby to playback videos it woks fine. Sleepstudy shows up the player and its power request - if Ibwant to playback just audio (mp3), the system is going down to sleep after just 15 minutes. Sleepstudy shows that the player is not askimg for a power plan. This means that the used Wundows audio player is not really useful for Windows 11. It needs to be updated. Using the analog outputs will generate a power plan, system is not going to sleep. Thanks for your help RUE
softworkz 5065 Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 When you use Window media player directly, does it sleep as well after 15min?
ruedi 5 Posted December 22, 2025 Author Posted December 22, 2025 Yes, when using Microsoft Media Player everything is fine. If you can see below, the media player requests a power plan which stopsw the system to go to sleep ---------------------------- PS C:\Users\rzapf> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_11.2510.7.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Microsoft.Media.Player.exe Windows Runtime Package: Microsoft.ZuneMusic_8wekyb3d8bbwe SYSTEM: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_11.2510.7.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Microsoft.Media.Player.exe Windows Runtime Package: Microsoft.ZuneMusic_8wekyb3d8bbwe AWAYMODE: Keine. AUSFÜHRUNG: Keine. ----------------------------- After the playback is being finished the power plan will be removed by the player even if is shown on the desktop. -------------------- PS C:\Users\rzapf> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: Keine. SYSTEM: Keine. --------------- The player emby is using does the same - but only when playing on the analog output. Which audio player is normally being used, when hdmi-audio is being used? best regards Rüdiger
