Some videos do not trigger Dolby Vision on Xbox

Emby stable v2.222.70.0

Xbox Series X, play Emby in local network with 1Gbps Ethernet. HDMI 2.1

The normal one:

Emby Xbox plays it normally with DV.

 

But this one, Xbox version cannot trigger DV:

As a comparison, there are two pic when play it on two different platforms:

When play on Emby Android(armv7) v3.4.36, running on my Xiaomi TV:

When play on Xbox:

 

All of them play by DIRECT PLAY(直接播放), and use the same monitor(Xiaomi TV)

Please try setting Video Decoder Mode to ForceSystemDecoder and see how that compares:

It doesn't work.

And there are issues with the rendering of subtitles in these videos.

btw there are some other settings.

(With "Enable automatic refresh...." ON)

That doesn't work on Xbox at all, only in the Windows app.

Yes.

I think it looks the same as when using Automatic.

Ok...

But Xbox can play Profile 8.1 but not 5.0?

Or Profile 8.1 works normally because of "HDR10 compatible"?

Correct. Profile 5 uses a proprietary color transfer method from Dolby. Somebody has reverse engineered it and that's why some open-source players can play it now (including Emby Windows app), but we haven't been able to bring that to work on Xbox yet.
