ALLSTAR1986 15 Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 @scb99Thanks, I did that too and everything works again, it's just the beta now, how is it with the beta, do the versions run reasonably normally? To be honest, I don't fancy a buggy system. ^^

alucryd 315 Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 (edited) @scb99@ALLSTAR1986Thanks for the valuable information, I'm pretty sure I know what the culprit is now. Unfortunately if I'm right, there is little hope of getting the current stable release to work at this point in time. Would be awesome if more people could try the beta out and report their results here. Edited April 17, 2025 by alucryd
mediauno 0 Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 hello , i have alo AsusTor 6704T and am unable to connect after update to ADM 5.0 bfp3; tried your version asustor5.0-4.8.11x86 linked here, aswell as beta 4.9 from emby download page for x86, but emby server would not still report "failed to connect" thanks.
mediauno 0 Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 thanks, found a solution here, by user CJTripper shared, disregard upper post please.
tedfroop21 86 Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 4.8 works fine too. Set it up last week. On 13/04/2025 at 02:52, ALLSTAR1986 said: That's not the problem with the ports, I have the ports for adm and emby far apart. Everything was fine until the adm 5.0 update. According to an asustor employee it is due to the new Linux kernel which was updated by asustor and therefore emby no longer works. Something has changed in the code. @Lukehow long do you need for a fix? I have emby Premiere and have not been able to use it for 1 week. I would tend not to believe the Asustor employee.... When there is a problem with the Kernel it would affect every ones installation. I would more believe there is a network issue preventing connection.

tedfroop21 86 Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 I am embarrassed but it looks like Asus stuffed EVERYTHING ADM 5 into my device on ADM 4.3.3RFK OS. Since I have been referring to ADM5 documentation for the ADM Defender white grey and blacklists, Certificate manager, ssh keys, iscsi, and the UI I assumed it was ADM 5. My error and apologies. 1
normandelli 4 Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 Hi everyone, I just wanted to follow up on the issue discussed here about Asustor NASes on ADM 5. Everything was working great for me until the update to ADM 5.0.0.RHJ2 which clearly broke my installation of Emby 4.8.11.0. My NAS is an Asustor AS5202T. I've read that Emby Server Beta 4.9x works but I'm quite wary of having to install that as a (temporary) replacement. As I've never tried a beta before, would I have to set everything up from scratch as with the stable version? And repeat the process in reverse when a solution is available? Thank you all!
sandrorudin 1 Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 +1 for normandelli's post above Upgraded today and emby stopped working. I would also appreciate a quick guide for installing the beta and the most important information about related data loss and returning to a stable version.
Luke 42077 Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 Hi, we’re hoping to submit a compatible package to asustor tomorrow so stay tuned.
Luke 42077 Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 Hi, we have submitted an ADM 5.0 compatible build to Asustor, so be on the lookout for that. Thanks. 1
normandelli 4 Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 I'm glad to report that the update for Asus is available and works perfectly! Thank you once again! 1
BrianJFox 18 Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 4.9.0.70 - so we're basically running the beta version? Or is this the first official 4.9 release? 1
normandelli 4 Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 Beta is still at 4.9.0.59. The "fixed" Asus server version is 4.9.0.70 and installed right on top of 4.8.11.0. 1

You can return to stable now by installing from asustor package center.

Luke 42077 Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 Just now, tonyelcampeon said: Hi Luke Is it safe to upgrade to ADM 5.0 now running Emby server 4.9.0.70? I believe so, although that doesn't mean there won't be a problem device or two that needs some special consideration. We have many users here running the combination of ADM 5.0 and Emby Server 4.9, and it made it through Asustor's testing process. 1
Boston13 1 Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 (edited) Hi... Having the same problem updated the app... tried the new beta...
