Emby does not show content of shared drive

I have a mac that has content on it and I'm using a windows 11 machine to serve emby. This configuration is just temporary until I remote into the mac running on VPN.

On the windows machine I can access from Windows Explorer both network share drives for Movies and TV Shows.

In emby I can only see content in TV Shows. Movies is empty.

Both folders are shared from the same volume (t9/media/), they have the same account and r/w permissions and I have rebooted the mac to ensure it retains shared folder rights.

Here is the log:

So check it. They are identical. I'm so lost as to how to troubleshoot it.

Can you show a screenshot of tv shows path in Emby.

Here are both movies (empty) and TV Shows (populated):

Try putting a \ behind movies you have that trailing back slash in your tv show path.

But I a bit confused by this in your screen shots.

image.png.2033be5e70022d7134f151b5dd237f58.png

But in Emby you have \\m4\media\tv shows and you say that works.

Yeah it works both ways because the media folder and the TV Shows/Movies folder have the same share permissions

Did you try with this movie path

\\m4\media\movies\

By adding the \ to the end.

Like you have in your tv show path.

Still empty :(

Does this mean anything?

I can access emby on my other machine using \\192.168.7.231\Movies... I'm going to try the IP address instead of the local host name.

Ok guess I'm out of ideas, sorry.

But would be great with full logs, to see more info, that might lead to a solution.

Devs would also ask for those 😉

Fuck it this is annoying because the other folder works and this one doesn't. Posting the entire log.

I'm guessing this is a credential issue. My windows and Mac share the same userid/pw on the same workgroup. Embyserver.exe runs on "image". it's not a service so I can't change how it authenticates. I didn't have to impersonate or change anything to access the shared drives using windows explorer.

I'm not sure if I can help you, sorry.

Don't know the inner workings of Mac and sharing from a mac.
