r5yk5 11 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 I would like to browse and play music from the TV app, LG in my case, it's a great interface. But it resamples everything to 48khz. I understand that this is the underlying operating system and not Emby so you can't change that. So I listen using my hires capable streamer (wiim) in my living room instead so music of that quality is played in the way it was intended. You might think why not get over yourself and us the TV app as it is, you probably can't hear the difference anyway? And you're probably right. But on the other hand, why have high res music and fancy amps and speakers then listen to a downsampled version? So it would be nice, for me, to be able to join and control the music on my dlna streamer using my remote and the TV app. Like I can with the android and web apps using the cast button thing. If that's possible. Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 Hi, yes this question has come up before and it is possible for future updates. Thanks for the feedback.
VIDE08 2 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 I totally get where you’re coming from! Even if the difference is subtle, it feels wrong to invest in high-res audio gear just to have everything resampled. Being able to control your DLNA streamer from the TV app would be a great feature, similar to how casting works on other platforms. Hopefully, Emby can implement something like this in the future!
Luke 42077 Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 HI, we'll add an option to enable this in our next app updates. Thanks.

Does this mean the android TV app does have it? If I were to get one of those Google streaming things, I could navigate my Emby library via the little remote and have it play on a different (dlna) device, at the original sample rate\bits per sample?

HI, yes our standard android app on android tv has it: Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.
