MrSilverstrings 0 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 Setup: Windows 11 HTPC, NVIDIA 3050 connected to: Anthem MRX 540 8K connected to Optoma UHD35x 4K UHD projector. @softworkz HRD works fine 100% through the chain as long as it is enabled from the start in Windows. Plays fine, the projector reports correct resolution and HDR. But if you disable HDR in Emby App and try to use Enable Automatic HDR, it does not work as intended. HDR gets disabled, but never gets enabled again. The strage thing is, Emby App reports that HDR is enabled (when starting to play a HDR movie), but it is not really enabled. Windows and the projector reports SDR mode, but Emby sais that HDR is enabled. Very strange. I also use a Chormecast connected to the same receiver, it has no problems with this in that Emby app verision. Works fine with auto HDR. Also, auto HDR works fine with another PC monitor I have in another room. Same app version. But not the same problem. So the only thing that does not work is the Auto HDR feature in my first example. A bit annoying since this is my main setup. Suggestions?
softworkz 5066 Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 Do you have a single of multiple displays connected (i.e. additional displays to the projector)? Do you have any remote desktop connection to that machine? Does it make a difference whether the Emby app is full-screen vs. windowed? When you look at the Windows settings where you enable HDR - does that change when Emby says it has enabled HDR mode? Can you post an EmbyClient log file from when switching doesn't happen while it says so? (Settings >> About >> Log Files) Thanks
