DarkStar1977 119 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 (edited) I'm suffering an issue with recent added episodes of some anime series, this one is an example: Emby is not capable to identify any language or subtitles even the file has it. Trying to play this from web browser present this error: But can be played on Apple TV but the Apple TV interface is not presenting the language or subtitles buttons in the OSD, even speed playing is not presented. present: And of course is perfectly identified and played by VLC, INAA and other Media Players, all except emby. This episode has the same encode options of all previous 23 that are perfectly identified and played. I've had the same issue on another show, but in that case the subtitles were .VOB and emby was unable to identify anything related to audio or subtitles presenting errors on web browser and playing correctly in Apple TV, but this is not the case of the issue today, subtitles are ASS. What's happening ? It is very anoying have to use Infuse to play things from the emby server because emby clients fails to read the file information. Luke 42078 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 HI, try refreshing the metadata on it and then see if the tracks show up.

pwhodges 2012 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 I would remove the forced flag from the first subtitle stream - in my experience forced flags give nothing but grief... Paul

Paul Paul, removing the forced flag does not solve the issue, in fact the previous 23 files in this show have the same encoding options with the forced flag. I'm spanish, this show is in japanese, so I need subtitles to understand what they say and marking as forced is the way that emby usually with the config I have, authomatically sellect this subtitle track when playing. I have other +16000 media files with forced subtitle tracks and got no issue. Edited March 26, 2025 by DarkStar1977

But according to the ffmpeg log there is no media info so Emby can not play the file as it has no idea how to. Emby is running on a WD PR4100 NAS, I've not rebooted the machine but I've stopped and re-enabled the service: BTW, I'm seeing that those files are the 1st uploaded into emby after the upgrade, are u sure the upgrade did not break something ? Various fixes with SMB folder access on Linux, macOS and Android servers Those files are hosted in another NAS server that's mounted via SMB into EMBY Server NAS .....
DarkStar1977 119 Posted March 26, 2025 Author Posted March 26, 2025 Forget it. Restarted the server twice and now all audio and subtitles info is there ....
