A new stable version 2.222.0.0 is available now.

Please go to the Microsoft Store and check for updates.

  • [Xbox] The EmbyPlus app is discontinued. EmbyPlus users will automatically transition to the regular app (2.222.0), which is now equal to the Plus app

Major News for Xbox Users

Versions 2.222.0 and later include the capability for HEVC playback - finally!

Is there a way to downgrade to a previous version?

The forced refresh rate switching regardless of settings is causing me more problems than what this app on Windows solves vs running just in browser.

Any hope to see the native Windows app open up to external players? I have to stick to the old desktop app since this feature is necessary for me to enjoy MadVR (through MPC-BE) on my projector.

Same problem with me, need external player. I think they said they are working on it.

By the way, if this app is suppose to replace the Theatre one in the future, could you please make the Extralarge option for size   cover much  bigger ? like the ones in Theatre? its impossible to see anything on a big TV or projection screen. Hi, the image sizes are the same in both apps. The difference is that in this screenshot you're not in TV display mode. Try activating that in the app's settings.

The external payers feature is planned for the next major update alongside other new features, so please understand that it will take a while. A major update means that there will be a dedicated beta phase of several weeks which isn't the case for minor updates (like 2.223.0,  2.224.0, etc.).

When are you thinking that beta cycle will be?

Hello,

After few weeks on 2.222 i've noticed some random issues :

-Sometimes (one per week) i'm stuck on Emby logo (no spinning circle)
Then i must kill Emby task on task manager and start again ...and when starting again sometimes 
it's good ans sometimes not, i must start again.

-Rarely problems with navigation and UI (left menu empty, no way to go back, no focus ...etc)

I've forgot another issue : i experience one, or sometimes, two sound drops per hour.

I' m using  also Emby on Google TV (Shield) and i never noticed one of theses three issues, never.

Which Emby logo? You mean when the background is black and the start animation hidden?

Yes exactly, after start animation and Emby logo on black background, i'm waiting for spinning circle but sometimes i'm stuck here, no spinning circle.
 

Can you please describe precisely what you mean by that and the timing of this?

Sound is dropping for 1 second but picture is nor freezing.
Sometimes after few minutes, sometines after 1 hour, but 1 per hour average (so 2 times for a 2 hours movie)
I'm using full hardware settings (RTX4060)

Bug with Direct Playback on Emby Xbox App

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed a strange issue when watching movies through the Emby app on Xbox. During direct playback, the video occasionally freezes for less than a second, happening about 2 or 3 times per movie.
The odd part is that this only happens on the Xbox app — the same video plays fine on other devices.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be a recent bug with the Xbox app?
