Samsung Tizen question

Hi

I'm checking in from the Plex world testing new alternatives because of Plex latest policy changes. I'm currently testing Emby on my setup. I have a question about the Tizen app that maybe you could answer. Whenever I try to playback a movie with PGS subtitles the app tries to transcode the video to burn the subtitles. Since it's very difficult to transcode 40 Mbps 4K x265 video the app stutters and freezes. I even had a OOM issue which has frozen my server. Is this normal or I'm missing some kind of configuration? This did happen with the Plex client also a while ago but they have solved it and now I'm able to direct stream with PGS just fine on my TV.

Hi, the TV does not support PGS subtitles. I know they built their own way to render them directly in the app. We don't have that right now, but it's something we plan to look at in future updates. Thanks.
