Marlinw 2 Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 Good day, My Emby sync to Trakt stopped working today. I uninstalled and re-installed the plugin. I requested a new pin as well. Scrobble is not working and running manual Import / Export task fails. Debug log attached. I also noticed I don't see Emby under connected apps in Trakt anymore. Not sure if that's an issue. sdragon001 17 Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 Similar problem here, I even tried to install an older plugin in Emby (3.7.7) but Emby doesn’t let you stop automatic plugin updates so every time you try to test to see if it was the plugin update you can’t.
Luke 42077 Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 Currently all requests to Trakt are sending back a forbidden response. This is what happened last week to many apps, and several hours later Trakt resolved it on their end. 2
Maisy 37 Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 I finally got it working this am for me. I wiped my token in my profile & saved, restarted Emby server. Checked to be sure it was empty in Trakt for my profile. Uninstalled Trakt plugin, restarted Emby server. Reinstalled Trakt plugin. Went to Trakt for my profile and got a new pin, pasted it in, saved. Loaded up Emby in Chrome played something and Yahoo it worked! Either me or them I don't care as long as it works. 1

sdragon001 17 Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 It broke again yesterday evening and can’t get a new pin and connection even after revoking in Trakt, I’m going to assume this will work again in about 6 or so hours. this is an issue with Trakts new 0auth and 24hr token expiration and Emby hasn’t updated the plugin properly since this change. I'm not seeing this issue if I’m using infuse and Trakt signed into my account, this will scrobble. 1

Sounds like something within the plugin is not handling the new trakt changes properly.

Maisy 37 Posted March 25, 2025 Posted March 25, 2025 Just realized mine didn't work again last night. All I did was get a new pin and it worked like it should this time though. It's been so solid for so long, now I feel like it's bound to break very soon again.

sdragon001 17 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 I wonder if @Lukecan provide more detail on what’s going on here, and if they are currently working with Trakt to correct this issue. Ever since Trakt updated their 0auth 24hr expiration token to 24hr from 3 months this hasn’t been reliable. In about an hour or so is when I expect the Trakt plugin will start throwing the forbidden and I have to get a new pin once again. Im not seeing this issue in other media server providers at this moment so it’s something within Embys plugin that needs to be corrected. 1
