BroserBros 0 Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 I have an Emby Premiere subscription. When I exceed the device limit, access gets blocked for all existing devices. This is a bit absurd—if my limit is 30 devices, then up to 30 should be allowed, and for the 31st new device, it should say, “You’ve exceeded the limit; you can’t get in,” while the previous 30 remain accessible. Isn’t this system flawed, and shouldn’t it be fixed? Why don’t we simply set the limit so that up to 30 (or 15) devices can be used simultaneously? Why do we have a system that counts 30 devices actively using Premiere features (once that limit is exceeded, no devices can use it, so limit is zero)? It’s a difficult system to keep track of, and I don’t know whom I give or don't give grant membership to.
Solution GrimReaper 4740 Posted March 20, 2025 Solution Posted March 20, 2025 Just now, BroserBros said: When I exceed the device limit, access gets blocked for all existing devices. That shouldn't be happening, only new devices should not be able to access, I've never heard of all of them being blocked Specific example would be required.

Yesterday I received this error on the Android TV I was actively using. This TV was previously identified.

That doesn't mean by default that it counts against your device limit/occupies slot curently (maybe it wasn't utilizing Premiere features, maybe over a week passed since it last did...). Only devices that utilize Premiere features count, and they're tracked for about a week, after which they automatically drop off the list/make slot available. If some other devices populated those 30 slots within last week - you can't play from that TV regardless of it being already known at some point in the past. Is there a limit to Emby Premiere? And if you have that many users, you might wanna consider Extended Premiere options and/or think about using clients with free Full Playback feature (like Roku, AppleTV, LG, Samsung...) Emby Premiere Özellik Matrisi Thanks for the information, but I still can't figure out the system. Does the device need to be unused for 1 week for it to be automatically removed? For example, if I deleted 1 user (let's assume this user uses Premiere with at least 1 device), will the space become available after 1 week?
GrimReaper 4740 Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 It should, yes. From above posted "Is there a limit..." link: Quote How long does a device count towards my limit? The system tracks device usage for about a week. How do I "knock" a device off the list? You can't. The system tracks this automatically.
