pen2paper 1 Posted March 18, 2025 Posted March 18, 2025 Hi, I cannot seem to find the information I am looking for so was hoping somebody might be able to help. I have Kodi and Emby running on a Windows machine. Everything seems to have scraped successfully from my media library except for movie set information. I have a movie set information folder set up on Kodi and everything is backed up onto the drive to individual folders. Ideally, I would prefer not having to assign my preferred images, etc, to every single movie set on Emby, as there are quite a few to go through. I'm hoping this could be achieved more efficiently than one set at a time. Thanks in advance.
softworkz 5066 Posted March 18, 2025 Posted March 18, 2025 I have moved your question to the Emby Server forum 1
Luke 42078 Posted March 18, 2025 Posted March 18, 2025 Hi there, are they created as collections in Emby?
pen2paper 1 Posted March 18, 2025 Author Posted March 18, 2025 No, they were created in Kodi and exported to the movie set information folder
Luke 42078 Posted March 18, 2025 Posted March 18, 2025 Quote exported to the movie set information folder What do you mean by that?
pen2paper 1 Posted March 18, 2025 Author Posted March 18, 2025 Kodi allows a folder to be set that contains movie set information. I was hoping that Emby might also scrape that so that individual movie sets didn't need to be manually adjusted if required.

I'd never heard of it before until now. I'm sure we can look at supporting it, but it isn't as of right now. 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 So this is basically a custom path for what Emby already does via /metadata/collections? Movie set information folder - Official Kodi Wiki 1
pen2paper 1 Posted March 22, 2025 Author Posted March 22, 2025 Ah, does this mean it's simply a case of changing the custom path within Emby?

I would think adding would create issues. But at the same time will folder without ids still be read as it looks like Kodi is just using basic naming?
pen2paper 1 Posted March 23, 2025 Author Posted March 23, 2025 May I ask, how does movie set info usually work with Emby? Is my issue relating to not using a default folder, or is it simply preferred not to use Kodi for such movie set information?

Then reads the <set> node from the movie and creates the collection in /metadata/collections. I believe you are the first to ever bring up this Kodi method.
pen2paper 1 Posted March 23, 2025 Author Posted March 23, 2025 Sorry for the headache, ha Okay, would you say it's best to wait for a potential fix down the line, or perhaps recommend I rebuild my movie sets in Emby? Thanks again
Luke 42078 Posted March 23, 2025 Posted March 23, 2025 You need to rebuild them. That folder would not create your collections anyway. It would only give you a place to store images for the ones you have.
