JasonCM 1 Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 AVI movies stutter/jitter like the frame rate is like 16 per second or less and after a little while, the video will fast forward by its self but the audio keeps playing at a normal speed. If i back out of the movie, restart the Fire TV and play it again, i get the same result at the same spot. This only happens when playing AVI files. AVI TV shows seem to play at a normal frame rate but after a while, it will also fast forward through the video but the audio plays at the normal speed. I tried the latest player from the app store and I also tried side loading rhe latest one from the emby website. If I downgrade the app, it play fine but it is missing a lot of the features I would like to use. The same AVI files play just fine when using the Emby PC app on Linux and Windows. Synology NAS OS v7.2.2-72806 Emby server app - Synology app store/manual upgrade v4.8.11.0 Fire TV Stick 4k Max OS v8.1.2.7 Emby player app - Amazon app store v3.4.36 This version plays AVI files just fine: Player app - Amazon app store v2.1.26a
Luke 42077 Posted March 16, 2025 Posted March 16, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 For video stuttering, please try Emby for Android 3.5.25 and let us know how that compares: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.
JasonCM 1 Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 My system is down for maintenance at the moment but as soon as I get it back up, I will report back with the results. Thank you for looking into this for me. Jason 1
Zaryt 0 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 This is a known issue with the latest Fire TV Emby app (v3.4.36). AVI playback is unstable video stutters, and sometimes fast-forwards while audio stays normal. Downgrading to v2.1.26a resolves the issue, though you lose some newer features. On PC apps and older versions, the same files play fine. Looks like a regression in the Fire TV app’s AVI handling.
