Recent Auto Update - can no longer connect

After the recent auto update (4.8.11.0) of the Emby Server (3/10/2025 in the alerts) I can longer connect via WAN or LAN or via Emby Connect. This was definitely due to the update as connections were working immediately before and ended immediately after and no changes were done manually during the timeframe in question.

Any thoughts on what the update contained that would do this and how to correct it.

Hi there, what exactly happens when you try to connect?

Posted

The connecting app tries to connect and goes to the screen with options to select server, connect with Emby connect and Download. Selecting the server just repeats the same screen. Same as when the server is down, but in this case, the server is up and running and I can browse content, use config, etc. If I try Emby Connect, it says it can’t connect to the server, says to make sure it’s running, etc. TV app just circles endlessly.

Hi.  Is your server running on Windows?  Sometimes an update will cause Windows to change firewall settings.  Have you checked that?

Thanks for that suggestion! Although I do run Windows, I use a different firewall.  I briefly turned off all the remote access protections within the firewall settings and then Emby connected on both my tablet and TV.

I then turned them back on and was still able to connect, so I think it is fixed now. Appreciate the assistance!
