Greg Prz 1 Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Hello, So when I setup Emby I created my library Home Videos. Under Home Videos there is a folder per video subject. Since incorporating my extended families videos and adding the wife's extended videos, the Home Videos library has close to 4000 sub-folders in it. I would like to split it so there is something like Home Videos -> Last Family Name -> Individual Video Folders. I am looking to do this for NTFS performance reasons. The question I have is how do I make sure things like played/favorites info is retained? If I move the .nfo file with emby update the .nfo file with the new names and locations or should I delete the .nfo file but will that then lose my played favorites info? What would be the proper way to do this? Thanks, Greg
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2025 Posted March 16, 2025 Hi, for home videos there is currently no way to do this. With movies and tvshows, user data gets stored with external ids (imdb, tvdb, etc). This way if you move the files around, the relationships are still maintained using those identifiers. But for home videos no such thing exists.
