Continue Listening Bug

Hello everyone!

I think I may have mentioned this as an aside in another bug report I made about the "Continue Listening" section being inconsistent, but I figured this deserves its own post here in the appropriate forum section.

Context:
I have an audiobook library loaded with various audiobooks, mostly in M4B with a few MP3 format. The continue listening function works fine on most of my client devices except the windows app.
Currently running Emby for windows 2.219.2.0

Issue:
In emby windows if I click a book to resume from the Continue Listening section, it will play the appropriate audio file that I was on, but it starts that file from the very beginning rather than resuming where I left off.
This is painful on certain audiobooks where there are only 1 or 2 multi-hour  audio files for the whole book rather than a file per chapter.
I have tested this with multiple books and it appears to happen for both M4B and MP3 files.

I am unsure if this is already suppose to work or not with Emby.  Apparently, this bookmarking last position is rarely found for mp3 playback.  I assume it is a little tricky to add this feature.

People in outside forums suggest this app has done it: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.prangesoftwaresolutions.audioanchor/
Also see: https://www.reddit.com/r/androidapps/comments/mcz4tq/audio_mp3_player_that_remembers_playback_position/

Hopefully, these outside forum posts can point the way to make it work with Emby.  Maybe this forum post, needs to be moved to a Feature suggestion.

Hey @visproductionthanks for the links, I'll check them out.

So from what I can tell, the Emby team has already figured this out. I can listen to an audiobook on my android app and it will resume from my last spot just fine. Or if I feel like playing the audiobook through the web browser or on one of my roku devices that seems to work as well and will continue where my phone left off.
Since it seems like this is already an existing and intended feature, I figured it makes more sense as a bug report in the forum for the client that isn't working as expected, but I'm open to correction if that's what the Emby team wants me to do.

Aha, I would guess that a new release sometimes can cause a hiccup in the code.  It's good that when you find something to post it.

Thanks for your report. I can confirm that it's a bug in the current Windows app.

It will be fixed in one of the next updates.

Fair enough, I'll try to remember to come back here after the latest update to confirm whether or not it's fixed.

Hey @softworkzjust FYI I have tested this on the new version 2.222.2.0 and it is NOT fixed.
Hitting resume on an audiobook still results in starting from the beginning of the audio file that I was on.

I said "one of the next updates". It's still on the list but it should be included in the next round.

Thanks
