Pulling metadata from tvdb for Formula 1 shows

Hello,

I know this has been discussed previously but not sure what the current situation is.

I have some sport shows including F1, which does have an entry in tvdb.

To test I've created a new library with 'TV' content and I've named a couple of files accroding to the season and episode number in tvdb.  I've even put the tvdb id in the media folder storing the files, but no matter what I do, EMBY doesn't pick up the metadata and media details from tvdb.

Any thoughts?

Specific example would be required. How are your files named and organized?

Posted

NAS\Volume\Folder\Sport\Formula 1\Formula 1 - S2024E123 - Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (Full Race) [tvdbid=10213753].mkv

Would be an example.  I've attempted to put the series tvdb id in the folder name too.

Sport folder has other folders in it too - other sports.  Library is set up as TV content

Those are quite high numbers, maybe parser is breaking somewhere.

Try renaming and adding season folder:

NAS\Volume\Folder\Sport\Formula 1 (1950) [tvdbid=387219]\Season 2024\Formula 1 - S2024E123.mkv

See what gives.

To my knowledge, the id is not read from the episode at all.  As one would first have to ensure the proper Series id is getting queried as Grim showed above.

Thanks for both your inputs.  I now moved one file and put it into a fresh folder (without any other files in the library) and named it according to the convention above.  Emvby now recognised it as a show but hasn't pulled anything back from tvdb.

What are your library enabled meta-providers and in what order?

You can also post server log so queries made (and/or any errors or timeouts) can be seen.

Just the standard settings

I'll add log files later, whe n I get home

OK - just had a break through.  I navigated to the series folder in emby and used the identify function to search for the series and by doing this, it successfully identified the 'show' and the individual episode I put in.  Don't understand why it didn't pull through originally, but this gives me something to work with now.  I'll report any significant additional findings.

Please let us know how things go. Thanks.
