vaise 340 Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 I know you need to 'phone home' to combat piracy. Recently we had a cyclone and for the first time, we were without internet for three days. Even the mobile cell towers were out. My TV's using GoogleTV's and CCwGTV devices were OK throughout this time But two ipads and an Iphone were not - just spinning blue circles, deleted and re-created a new connection to the server, to local IP of my local server and you can logon OK but when you click play, nothing was happening. Any idea why they would not work. Of course, once the internet came back, they sprang into operating as normal.
speechles 2055 Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 The clients that require premiere consume a device slot and also need to check for validation but cannot see your device limit.
darkassassin07 652 Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Each device as well as the server validates the premier license with emby.media separately; with devices falling off that list after 2 weeks. Only devices that have been used within the last 2 weeks before the internet outage will be able to access premier features. You'll still be able to use non-premier features (for example using an android as a remote for the tv), or (non-hardware transcoded) playback via web browser.

I may be able to hunt for them around that time. Should have thought at the time but as my grandsons TV was working, I never put it at a priority. (With cyclone etc). Just assumed it was something iOS specific. Strangely my wife’s iPad was fine.
