Emby Chromecast doesn't display subs

Chromecasting from Android app to Sony TV.

This happens even when transcoding (ie forcing the bitrate down).

Same video displays subtitles fine when played on the Android app and web browser, both with and without transcoding.

Android App 3.4.36 on Galaxy S24 Ultra running Android 14.

This reproduces on a 3rd gen chromecast dongle running the latest firmware.

 

System firmware version: 291998

Cast firmware: 1.56.291998

This also seems to only happen with ASS subtitles, even those that previously rendered natively on chromecast.
