wrkilu 2 Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 Hi, I installed even newest beta Emby v. 4.9.0.41 on Ubuntu 24 and unfortunately picttures on my Samsung TV are broken I mean I see pixelization or like.... in very low resolution. I see liitle squares on pictures. This is so fucked. Because you know... watching videos and pictures I think are TOTALLY BASIC FEATURES of DLNA server and here in Emby - is broken. And I read other posts and saw that this problem occurs from maybe 2 years ? Why still isn't fixed ? Guys...developers... I know this is open source and I have no right to demand anything but... what for is developed this soft if it doesn't work ?
wrkilu 2 Posted March 7, 2025 Author Posted March 7, 2025 To be precise: broken pictures I see both in Samsung app "Emby" and in built in DLNA client in Samsung too.
Luke 42078 Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 Hi, I know you will not like to hear this, but this is actually an issue in the Samsung video player and not an issue caused by Emby. Can we please look at a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
wrkilu 2 Posted March 8, 2025 Author Posted March 8, 2025 Symptoms are the same like on other posts on this forum from maybe 2022 year. Pictures are in low resolution and thats it. I liked Emby because I used it from maybe 5 years and all was working when I had older version of it ! maybe 3.4 ? I don't remember exacly. No I had to reinstall my Ubuntu on NAS to new one and current Emby doesn't work for pictures. Yoy are saying this is fault of Samsung TV ? So how is possible that picures worked on old version of Emby server (in bult in DLNA client) - now it doesn't work. Simply I'm dissapointed of these fucking next problems with open source soft and thats it. And new and new bugs on new version of theses softs. I will look for other soft for DLNA servers and thats it. Emby - good bye.
Luke 42078 Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 Hi, sorry, my mistake. I misread that this was about pictures and not videos. So yes this is probably something we can look at. Can we please go over a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
wrkilu 2 Posted March 8, 2025 Author Posted March 8, 2025 (edited) No problem, what info do you want ? Showing good picture and bad picture from Samsung TV was given here in other posts many times so what other debug info do you want ? Edited March 8, 2025 by wrkilu

How does it look in the Emby web app?
wrkilu 2 Posted March 12, 2025 Author Posted March 12, 2025 I'm attaching two pictures: from TV and laptop - take a look..... And again: on older version of Emby IT WORKED. Pictures were same best like on laptop. Now are broken on TV.
Luke 42078 Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 HI, what version of the Emby Samsung app are you on?
wrkilu 2 Posted March 12, 2025 Author Posted March 12, 2025 Version 1.2.6 Samsung 49" , internet wired connection. Server also is on wire connection. But on my second TV Sharp 32", internet WIFI connection - pictures works!! So something is wrong with Samsung but on the other hand - with older version of Emby it worked.
Luke 42078 Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Can you try installing the latest version over USB and see how things compare? https://emby.media/emby-for-samsung-smart-tv.html
wrkilu 2 Posted March 13, 2025 Author Posted March 13, 2025 Its working!!!! Newest version is working on Samsung TV at last Movies and pictures - great! Thank you for your work! Remmeber about following things in Emby: - fast work ov viewving pictures and videos - not too many bells and whistles - good UI ... simplicity as now it is I think So I'm getting back to Emby and thank you to all of you for hard work on this soft! 1
