rchin 2 Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 I recently setup an Emby server with Emby Premiere on a TV at my office to play an endless loop in a lobby. However I have been having some odd issues where the loop could play for a week without any problems and then randomly the TV will be black but the backlight is still on. If I hit the back button it goes back to the library of the Emby server. At first I thought it was the TV going to sleep but it seems to be something with playback. Is this a documented issue that has a fix? Or do you have ideas on how to fix this?
Luke 42077 Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
rchin 2 Posted March 7, 2025 Author Posted March 7, 2025 Here's the server log from yesterday when I noticed it happened. I should note this happens in both Emby for Fire TV and the standard Emby app I can download on the TV. I thought maybe it was just a bug with the Fire TV app but happens in both of them. Hopefully I pulled the right file. Thanks! embyserver-63876902400.txt

I wonder if the TV is overheating or something and just shutting down... 19 hours ago, rchin said: Here's the server log from yesterday when I noticed it happened Exactly when? And what did you do after that? Thanks.
rchin 2 Posted March 10, 2025 Author Posted March 10, 2025 Correct the TV goes nonstop in the lobby. I did think it was the tv going to sleep but I did go in with ADBlink to the TV and made it never go to sleep. I'm fairly certain it is Emby since when I hit the back button on the remote it goes away from the black backlit screen to the Emby library. I noticed it was like that the other day around 8am when I came in. Usually to fix it I need to power cycle the TV and restart Emby and then it will go back to behaving for a while

rchin 2 Posted March 17, 2025 Author Posted March 17, 2025 Apologies @Luke here, I wasn't at the office to be able to look at the app version. The TV is running 3.4.36 Emby for Android. I don't think it is the TV @ebr when I came in this morning the TV was on and Emby was on the library page. I'll try to confirm this by starting the loop on another screen in the office that is a different TV than the one I'm really trying to get fixed
rchin 2 Posted March 17, 2025 Author Posted March 17, 2025 Thanks! I have the same loop also playing on a Samsung TV with Emby for Samsung to see if it's a problem with that TV or not too. I also turned logs on for the Emby for Android TV incase for when it happens again 1
rchin 2 Posted March 21, 2025 Author Posted March 21, 2025 @Lukenot sure if another log file is helpful but I noticed it happened again yesterday. If I wanted to send the log file from the TV how would I go about getting it off the TV? When I click the log in the app it just freezes everythingembyserver-63878029200.txt 1
