User Name TVTime

App version 3.4.36

Player TCL QM851 Google TV

Server Version 4.9.0.41

Unable to send logs from app. It shows the log on screen and has a share button but when I press it it says, "You don't have an app that can do this" What app do I need? This was sent directly to the Emby Team previously in Emby for Android TV and maybe needs to be"on the list" of differences if it isn't already.

Although the above is an issue in and of itself, the Issue I'm reporting here is that when fast forwarding or rewinding, the transition back to normal playback is buggy, slow or nonexistent.

Server log will be in the next post.

Here's the server and hardware detection logs.

The time stamp I was replicating the issue for reporting here was about 6:08 pst. I found this several times in the server log around the same time. Is it related?

One more thing to add. I normally run beta on both server and apps because I like to be on the bleeding edge and can tolerate issues that come up. I noticed that I do not have the beta android app on my Google TV although I downloaded it from the PlayStore. Usually, since I'm in the beta program, I get the beta app but maybe TCL has blocked that? Nevertheless, how to side load on a Google TV or get the beta app from the store?

Maybe the FFWD/RWD issue is number 94 here? I don't see the log reporting as an issue though?

Hi, what problem are you having with ff/rew? It works just fine.

When either FFWD'ing or RWD'ing, hitting the "OK" button on the remote doesn't result in playback at normal speed starting. The video stops playing and is frozen.

Sometimes you have to exit out of the content or even the app completely. Other times hitting the left or right d-pad button gets it to resume playback.

Hitting the "OK" button in the Android TV app always results in playback resuming.

Seems to be working ok in my testing. Is it possible you paused it?

That's what I thought too but pressing the "OK" button did nothing.

BTW, none of the messaging apps are compatible with AndroidTV devices. I'm going to try Filer xPlore Or File Commander to grab the logs and send them. I'll be trying that again and then posting more logs, possibly with a video shot with my phone to show what is happening.

Post Script: I'm not sure but I thought I was running the beta version. Can you verify? It says version 3.4.36 and I think the current version is higher than that yet that's the latest available in the play store.

@Luke

In further testing this issue appears to have resolved itself. The TV is wired on gig ethernet so it is unlikely to be a network issue. Maybe the server was busy? maybe I needed to force close the app? (which I did)

Who know? I'll post again if it rears its ugly head again.

I have the same issue with both (3.4.36/2.1.23g) Emby apps on a TCL C765. The server version is now 4.8.11.0, but was happening on the V4.8.10.0 too.

Did you find a fix? @Sammy

Still laggy here @Luke. I'm going to reinstall the Emby for Android TV app and compare the two. Stay tuned.

Ok.

FFWD and RWD works just fine on ATV app version 2.1.26g with the mini window showing the BIF images but EIA_608 CC's are not showing with sub burn in off or with it on.

I'm running the standard 3.4.48 android beta app downloaded from Emby server just a few minutes ago.

@Luke, I'm still working on extracting the logs for the standard android app I posted in my other thread.

For me, it happens with Disney+ too and it's replicable every time. For whichever app it happens, the others can't play videos for some time either, but only Emby apps and Disney+. YouTube and Netflix are not affected or if I use an external video player like Kodi and Nova in Emby.
