ACdb.tv - Automated Collections

I have subscribed to three collections (IMDB and Trending Shows and Movies). However, the last sync that was performed has wiped the pictures I had for my Library, LiveTV and Collections (the pictures were the default generated Emby ones).

How can I reverse this and can I stop it from happening in future?

I think the only way to reverse it to upload your own images and set them from acdbtv?

It's not intended for Library images to be touched unless you set new ones on ACdb.tv. I'll look into why this happened, sorry about the bother.

Fun fact: I still use the Docker version and also some collection images were wiped. I pull the images from github. First I thought it was because of the Cloudflare outage.

I've noticed a couple of people ask about disappearing collection images on the forum. Also have a user on Discord with the issue. I don't know what is going on but I'm pretty sure it's not related to the script/plugin.

It might (but not necessarily) be related to a recently introduced change in as how the collection folders are saved within \metadata folder.

Does this mean the activity log showing the changes is erroneous? My first thought was that the plugin was at fault due to this.

Your library images issue is not related to these threads, it’s a plugin issue. I’m away from my main computer in the next few days, but I will make an update soon.

j'ai un soucis avec votre plugin. j'ai actuellement un serveur EMBY sur un PC windows qui passe par un VPS et depuis ce pc je n'ai pas la possibilité d'accéder a votre serveur de synchronisation. y a t il moyen de m'aider ou alors c'est impossible depuis un VPS ? Merci d'avance pour votre aide

Hi, it's probably a firewall issue. Using a VPS is not a problem by itself, should work fine once the connection is allowed. It's connecting with HTTPS to https://acdb.tv and https://api.acdb.tv/api

I now got this running as source collections for @pünktchen Virtual TV plugin and this is giving me very decent feeds for some new virtual channels! 

 

I have a question: is it possible to replace a few sections of the Home Screen with input from this plugin? That would be awesome

It was hinted that 'smart views' would be released in 4.9.x - as the next priority - so I'm really hoping this is true from @Luke

The ability to view collections or playlists as dynamic virtual libraries on the landing page for all the apps will greatly enhance plugins such as this, assuming (essential imo) there is an API hook into the core feature.. 

Also - the latest beta has a fix that hints the virtual libraries may exist as 'channels' ..

My goal is to have 3 collections for the last, current and upcoming season (would be Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 at the moment) which updates automatically.

Would that be possible with this plugin? If yes, how can I achieve that?

Collections contain MDBLists, so you can head over to https://mdblist.com/ and make a list over there. I don't know anything about Anime tbh, but it's super flexible. You can search for a similar list here https://mdblist.com/toplists/  for example. To see how the filter works and modify it for your needs, you go to Actions and "Create your Show Filter".

Then go you "My Lists", check if it's populated, and once it is, go to https://acdb.tv/list_search and search for the list url to create your collection.

Using Anime as a genre and specifying the dates, I can get it to work for new Series, but I could not find a way to add shows with a new Season, unless I make a static list.

I'm not too sure what you mean by new Season. Can see a currently airing list here: https://mdblist.com/lists/preferrednerd/currently-airing-anime

You can then also use 2 lists where you exclude one list in another etc. For example use currently airing but exclude new Series. The MDBList Discord is super helpful, could try getting some help there if it's not what you are after.

Dan Da Dan shows up with it's 2nd Season, but i can't get it to show up in MDBList. Just so you know what i mean.
If I could get it to show up, that would satisfy my needs.

I have a strange request.  I'm trying to create a collection in emby of my own movies in random order.  I'd like it to be updated automatically on a periodic basis.  This is a work around for a shortcoming of Infuse when using Emby as the source.  Infuse doesn't let you sort randomly like using plex as a source.  Plex has its own shortcomings. One solution is to create a randomized collection of my own movies in Emby. That collection would show up in Infuse.  This is probably WAY more work that it's worth but thought I would ask.  I have a list of my movies in MDBList if that makes a difference. Any ideas or feedback is appreciated.

You can randomize the list on MDBList, however there is no way to retain that order in Emby unless I would add some feature that modifies the sort name according to the list order. But it's not really a viable solution since the movie can be in multiple collections and it will just be chaotic. 

I'm assuming this is for content discovery?

One idea is to randomize the order on MDBList and put Limit items to 10 or whatever. Then you have a collection of 10 random movies that is refreshed every 24 hours (maybe 12, can't remember).

Could do this for different categories, like these type of collections https://acdb.tv/collection/comedy-picks-of-the-day

You can make a list, that include your big list, then filter to category, randomize the order, limit to x items.

Yes, 3 collections for free, then there is a 20 collections tier for $2 or about 2 Euro.

To discover media outside of your library, you can add a collection, sync it to your library and then on the website you will be able to see which items you are missing.

 

I want to add trailers to collections so that if you’re missing items, you can at least watch the trailers for the ones you don’t have. The problem is there’s no clean way to serve trailers that I know of. I haven’t found any API I can tap into, so the only options are workarounds, and none of them feel right.
