Do you see any hints in Activity what it might be doing (if it's still syncing)? 

It's probably not doing anything, just never got the complete event, I'll put a time out on it in next version.

Restart will fix it, if it happens again I would appreciate if you msg me and we can debug it via log.

It looks like the collection name is missing, should say "Processing collection *some name*" Shouldn't be possible to have a collection with no name, let me figure this out.

Hello I think this is a great addition to Emby as well and I was wondering if it might be a possibility or maybe considered to give us the option to add or pin the individual movies from the collection to the homepage so that it will show and be displayed on the homepage just like latest movie, latest new releases etc... 

Example: The "True Story Based" collection and all collections that have been synced to Emby can have the option of being accessed and displayed without having to go to the collections tab/folder to access and play the movies or content from that collection.

I hope I did make this more confusing then it needed to be and thanks in advance.

I think being able to have "flat" collections on the homescreen would be a killer feature for Emby, would even get many people to convert from Plex. Unfortunately it's not possible, at least not within the realms of what I'm willing to do. It would require kind of "hacking" the library and would result in duplicate items in continue watching for example. I think there is some hope with upcoming Emby release though... but I don't know that for sure.

After installing an add-on called 'ACdb.tv', a folder of collections was added that cannot be deleted even after I uninstalled the add-on.

Hey @Demo2It's not a folder, just where you keep your collections. It's not something that was created because of ACdb. If you don't want it on your home screen you can edit Home Screen in settings

OK I don't think I can help. It's an Emby feature. It's not a folder, just your collection (if you have any). if you ever create a collection and remove it later it will show up. Maybe try to make a fresh thread and Emby staff can reply.

Hey,

I've been adding some new things.

Added scheduled/seasonal collections + a filter collections bar on the front page:

Above you can also see the relatively new sorting option. Move collections to the top if new items from your library get added to them.

Added a new button on your collections so that you can see which items you have missing from a collection. Shown once you have synced that collection. Must be Patreon supporter to use. If you don't see the option make sure you have the latest version of the plugin (and then you must wait for syncs).

Plugin has had a bunch of minor improvements and also a number of fixes (thanks @eMoOakfor lots of testing).

@AmythingIs there anything you can’t do with the ACdb plugin that can be done with the Emby MDBList Collection Creator script?

Will new updates and features that are pushed to the script also be synchronized and pushed to the plugin?

I’m also curious if poster overlays is on the roadmap for future plans? This would really make it the “Kometa for Emby” type of plugin for me.

The script has Metadata refresh which the plugin does not have yet. Script also has collection poster support but that is coming this weekend to the plugin, with a gallery etc.

The script is taking a back seat to the plugin so anything new will almost certainly come first to the plugin.

Hey guys,

I've just added support for collection posters and created a gallery on acdb.tv. Right now, it features only AI-generated images I’ve "created", so please feel free to upload your own...

I’ve added posters to most of the "Official" collections, though I’m still working on giving them a consistent style.  If you’ve added any of those collections, posters will begin syncing to your Emby gradually, max 24 hours after updating plugin. You can assign different posters to any of your added collections, even if you didn’t create the collection yourself.

Posters can be in a variety of aspect ratios on Emby, the official posters I've done to be in same ratio as default poster, in 2:3.

I'll share my experience of using Chat GPT to create these posters since it was a bit hit and miss to begin with. If you like a particular style of a poster, you can attach it to a chat and ask Chat GPT to generate an image in the same style and mention the 2:3 aspect ratio every time.

Keep the chat thread short, once you have something you are happy with, start editing the last prompt to make something new instead of continuing on or AI gets confused in my experience.

I’ve tried other plugins, but they either don’t allow custom overlay images, not available within Emby’s Plugin Catalog, or require permissions to directly write/edit the server or storage. 

Some normal functions like using your own custom overlay images and the ability to choose the overlay location (top center, bottom center, top right, bottom left, etc), and choosing filters to match to, that would apply the overlay.

An overlay a lot of people could utilize is for HDR & DV metadata. As many people utilize dedicated libraries for specific qualities of media. Unfortunately there’s no way to determine which media title is in what specific library when doing a search, when someone has multiple qualities of the same title, unless you manually browse each library individually.

I think this would be an excellent starting point, which could be further built on from.

Kometa has a pretty large catalog of overlays in their github repo that, many people use, myself included, that you could check out.

Heres some examples from my Plex server, to give you an idea on how I use overlays.

I would call that out of scope of this plugin. 

There's number of other plugins/tools, both official and community-made, that might help you achieve desired results: CoverArt, Iconic Image Inhancer, Kometa Emby Overlays, Poster Overlay Tool etc.

the first time you sync a collection you get a view of which items from the collection you're missing on the website.  is that supposed to update on subsequent syncs?  For example on the first sync if i'm missing an item and then add it, should i see that reflected on the website after the next sync?

Yes, each time the plugin syncs a collection (happens every 12 hours or 24 hours depending on collection), it sends to ACdb server which items are missing.

Thanks!  I’m working through if I should switch to this version, or stick with the docker I currently use.  I’ve noticed on the 3 collections I’m testing with after 24 hours the posters I assigned via the website aren’t syncing to Emby.  Should that be happening?

The posters are supposed to sync. I have 2 other users having this issue. No errors in logs so I've been unable to reproduce. I'm including some more logging in next version to try and track it down. Might I msg you when the time comes to look into it with me?
