allanp81 0 Posted May 24, 2025 Author Posted May 24, 2025 I didn't think cuvid was the right thing to use? Surely NVDEC is the one to use?
allanp81 0 Posted May 24, 2025 Author Posted May 24, 2025 (edited) Same problem with CUVID as NVDEC. This all works fine on Jellyfin so this an Emby problem. ffmpeg-transcode-99f1b9e9-f3a8-4b32-bbcb-1604683d0b7e_1.txt embyserver (1).txt hardware_detection-63883712268.txt ffmpeg-transcode-06ce6e7f-b2a6-4289-bfdd-6e0e386e2d6d_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-7e9474b0-fc09-430b-a1b0-9e855a0e1cfe_1.txt Edited May 24, 2025 by allanp81
rulanticus 1 Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 I have exactly the same error. Try to fix it since weeks but not possible. Same with intel GPU or Nvidia. Jellyfin and Plex worked fine for over 3 years. Emby is also running in an docker like my plex and jellyfin setups. I think its an issue from emby. I found a lot of people with the same issues on different forums. 1
rulanticus 1 Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Update: Same error also on Win11 installation on normal PC. Without Docker etc.
rulanticus 1 Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 I got it working . Install the Diagnostic Plugin and try this @allanp81: Disable HLS Subtitles = On Disable Subtitle Streams = On Disable Hardware Subtitle Overlay = On Disable Subtitle Filtering = On Works for me on Unraid with Emby in Offical Docker and also on Win11 PC installation.
allanp81 0 Posted May 26, 2025 Author Posted May 26, 2025 I think the diagnostic plugin only disables things temporarily though?

We'll have a new ffmpeg build on the server beta channel in the near future, so stay tuned for that.
Essjay10 5 Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 (edited) I'm having the exact same problem for months now. Works fine with Jellyfin, but Emby is using CPU to decode. I tried the latest beta v4.9.1.21 and it still isnt working. Edited August 22, 2025 by Essjay10
