Problem Downloading Files Containing Unicode Characters

Forgive me if this has already been asked; I couldn't find a similar topic when searching. My archive uses a naming convention I consider "title accurate". A 'standard' title would be considered "Baby Driver (2017).mkv". More complicated titles, for instance, include "Robin Hood꞉ Men in Tights (1993).mkv"; it contains the Unicode character U+A789 (Letter Modifier Colon) in the place of a colon to circumvent OS limitations. "Armitage Ⅲ꞉ Poly-Matrix (1996).mkv" contains U+2162 (Roman Numeral III) and U+A789. Additionally, for foreign movies, I include the original-language title in the file name, enclosed in brackets. E.G., "Dark Valley 《Das Finstere Tal》 (2014), The.mkv". Lastly, as demonstrated there, movie titles are sorted to ignore things like "A/An/The/etc.".

Now, importing these into Emby has always been fine. Well, except a couple outliers that it choked trying to properly identify, but that's an aside. Everything's operational. Stream movies, series, and songs; make playlists, create collections, it's all fine. The catch comes when trying to download a file. A 'standard' file downloads fine, and properly named. But if a file contains any Unicode character, it goes wonky and renames it "Download.mkv". This happens without fail, and I've combed every setting conceivable to find an answer. Is there a simple solution I'm missing that would resolve this, or is there a limitation somewhere in the back-end that's causing the hiccup?

I appreciate any help; this aside, Emby's covering my needs rather well.

HI there, what Emby app are you downloading from?

Hi Luke, thank you for your reply.

So far, I've tried through the browsers Firefox and Brave on both Linux and Windows, and the Emby Theater app on Windows. I'd restarted the server earlier, and just gave one more go. Using the Emby Theater app on Windows, "3:10 to Yuma (2007).mkv" did the same thing; the download prompt turned it into "Download.mkv".

Ok I think we’ve already made some improvements to this as part of the upcoming 4.9 server release. Thanks.
