LG WebOS No compatible streams are currently available message

Hello,

I get the error "No compatible streams are currently available message" on Emby for LG app for relatively a lot of files.

Emby app version 1.0.45

Emby server 4.8.8.0

The LG TV itself is not newest. SW Version 04.06.75.

For example a movie that I cant play is called "Pandorum (2009)". Logs attached.

It looks like your setup cannot decode  DTS Audio.  I don't know if there is a way around that.  I have never been able to play DTS audio on anything other than via a digital audio connection to an AV amp or blu-ray player dedicated for DTS.  I have always converted DTS to AAC and that plays back fine, one generation lost.

Hope that helps.

Hello,

thank you for pointing me to the right direction. The mkv has two audio tracks. AC3 and DTS. I removed DTS audio (mkvtoolnix) and now the Emby WebOS app can play it.

Other test I did was to transcode DTS to EAC3 (tdarr) but that ended in the same error as with DTS. I will keep digging.

thx

Hi,

Not really. I tried DTS to AAC, including lowering audio bitrate but still the same. I dont know what webos emby app doesn't like on the audio track.

Btw I have got some other movies with DTS audio and are working fine.

Hi, have you updated to Emby Server 4.8.11 and Emby for LG 1.0.46? Has that helped?

Eac3 is fine on LG generally. I use it extensively without issue. I have a 2016 oled 3d model on webos 3 as well.

It's trying to transcode the file instead of DirectPlay and having an issue doing that.

I don't know what model you have but I've got a 2016 OLED and have Emby setup so it won't transcode anything. It plays pretty much everything I throw at it. The one exception is UHD bluray rips, sometimes I have to do some funky stuff with mkvtoolnix before they will play.

C6V which is same as E6 inside in terms of firmware. I'm also on latest firmware 05.70.45 as over the various firmware updates they made motion handling better. This version came out a few days ago after 05.70.40 coming out within past 2 weeks for "bug fixes". Both of these were OTA, so you have to wait for the TV to prompt to update as not available by the TV settings firmware update menus. I know, 10 years nearly and still firmware updates and TV still fast with apps not a grinding crawl like cheap LCD modern TVs :)

Mines a B6 and got 5.70.50 a week ago which updated the ToS and privacy agreements. Apps won't work until you agree to it, unreal they can effectively brick a 10 year old purchase if you don't agree to most likely B.S ToS changes. I did read a few posts stating it fixed their problems with bluetooth headphones so maybe it did have some bug fixes. It's also started pestering me to install 5.70.55 for the last 2 days. It would be great if they updated it to the next version of WebOS. The hardware can obviously handle it. I know expecting TV apps to be maintained is asinine but these TV's cost a bomb and a lot of new streaming apps released less than 2 years later were not supported.

Hello,

unfortunately I have not fixed it yet. Upgraded Emby server to 4.8.11, LG WebOS app to 1.0.46.

Attached another log export. This time I tried to play movie Carry-on (Prirucak).

This is worse for me when you have video backgrounds enabled (No compatible streams dialogue). If they are off, I generally do not get this.
