revrora 6 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Hi, Is it possible to set up live Tv using a Hauppauge Tuner, on an Emby server running on the Nvidia Shield? I've tried setting it up, but not been able to figure it out. I've just transferred from Plex where where it was possible on this set up. Kind regards Rev
Solution Luke 42077 Posted March 1, 2025 Solution Posted March 1, 2025 Hi, not currently, but this is something we're interested in for future updates. Thanks.
Luke 42077 Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 Until then we recommend an HD Homerun network tuner.
revrora 6 Posted March 1, 2025 Author Posted March 1, 2025 Thanks for the reply, Luke. Good to know it may be supported in the future. The HD Homerun is a bit pricy at 192€ so I've set something up with M3U. I've not been able to get an EPG to work yet though. Really impressed with how much customisation is possible with Emby. Kind regards Rev 1
Carlo 4560 Posted March 2, 2025 Posted March 2, 2025 Hi @revrora Did the provider supply an xml EPG to use with the M3U file?
revrora 6 Posted March 2, 2025 Author Posted March 2, 2025 (edited) Hi Carlo They didnt, no. I found it via an old Emby forum post. http://bit.ly/kn-kodi-tv It's actually for German TV, so the supported Emby guide data won't work. I tried a few that I found, but couldnt' get any to work. It's been a learning curve for me tbh, although it's not too big a problem as I only really want it for the live news channels. I might also try and add a UK M3U for free to air TV if I can find one, and hopefully utilise the Emby guide data. Kind Regards Rev Edited March 2, 2025 by revrora punctuation 1
Carlo 4560 Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 Hi @revrora Try loading that playlist in M3U4U.COM and see how many channels you can match for EPG use. 1
revrora 6 Posted March 3, 2025 Author Posted March 3, 2025 I'll have a look at it tonight. Thank you. 2
revrora 6 Posted March 4, 2025 Author Posted March 4, 2025 That was just what I was looking for. It worked perfectly, thank you. 2
