Kurt13 11 Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 (edited) Hi, I have a (music) dvd ripped on my Emby but there's no sound when i try to play it with "Emby for Android" on my smartphone or Android TV box, nor with "Emby for Android TV" on my box. On Emby web or "Emby Theatre" on W11, the sound plays fine. Can anyone tell me why? Emby server version: 4.8.10.0 Apps are fully updated (log and screenshot are from the Emby app on my smartphone. I also attached the information provided from MediaInfo when i download the file to my pc, in case it helps) emby_android_1740685424939.txt Edited February 27, 2025 by Kurt13 Forgot to mention the Emby server version
Luke 42077 Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 Hi, what version of Emby for android did you try?
Luke 42077 Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 OK can you try sideloading the latest build and see how that compares?

Kurt13 11 Posted February 27, 2025 Author Posted February 27, 2025 Unfortunately didn't work. Do you see anything related to a possible issue with the video file on the log file? It's strange that it works on Emby Web and Emby Theatre. Also, since i updated through the apk you sent, when new releases are availabe on the Play Store, will the app receive it, or i have to reinstall the version from there? Thanks

Luke 42077 Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Hi, is the audio muxed into the container with an audio delay?

For what I know, sound delay is when the sound is out of sync with the video, which isn't the case. The sound simply doesn't work. It's simply strange (at least to me) that the sound doesn't work on Emby for Android installed on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, nor with both Android TV apps on a Xiaomi Mi Box S 2nd gen. But on Emby Web (even accessing through my phone) or "Emby Theatre" on W11, the sound plays fine. Edited March 29, 2025 by Kurt13

I have to check it again but don't know if it's better to do it when I'm back home (in 5 days). Also, since there wasn't any solution, I remember that at the time I ripped 2 additional files (from the same original one) to test but can't remember what I did on order to see if it would make any difference. 1
