TV Recording stopped after 20 seconds

Hi,

I have recently had an issue with a scheduled recording starting as expected, but the video created is only twenty seconds long.

System:  Windows 11 server using Emby to schedule recordings and NextPVR to control a quad channel Hauppauge TV tuner.  Typically accessed via an Emby Client running on an Android TV.

Issue:  Scheduled recording started on time but recording stopped creating about 20 seconds of recording.  At the time, this was the only programme being recorded and the Emby server was streaming to one client.

Programme:  The Graham Norton Show, scheduled from 22:40 to 23:30 on Friday 21st February 2025.

Emby and NextPVR Logs attached which show the timer fired correctly at 22:38 (start time less two minutes prerecording padding).  However, there are error messages in the Emby logs at 2025-02-21 22:38:41

I don’t understand the error messages and how to fix this so would appreciate any help.

Thanks
Paul

Hi, were you playing the recording in progress?

No, but we were streaming another video from the Emby server to an Emby clent on a Sony Android TV when the recording commenced.

Hi Luke,

If you check this forum you will see I have had other DVR related issues with Emby.  As a result, I have spent many hours studying logs, researching online, tweaking my system, optmising the TV signal and experimenting with both NextPVR and WinTV but have been unable to get  Emby to work reliably as a DVR.

Whilst I do prefer Emby's interface and  client server setup, the apparent inability to act reliably as a DVR with my Hauppauge tuners and Windows system is a deal breaker.

Yesterday, I concluded that its time to give up with Emby and revert back to Kodi and NextPVR which I previously used successfully for many years.  I also cancelled my premiere subscription.

If Emby ever impliments native support for this setup then I will try again.

Thanks to you and others on this forum for trying to help.

Best wishes

David
