Aspect ratio for older videos incorrect on TV only

I've noticed a strange problem that only appeared after switching from Emby for Fire TV to the standard Android app on my Fire TV. Older videos that are 480p such as older TV shows are always horizontally squished. I remedy the issue by switching the aspect ratio to Cover/Fill instead of Auto. This doesn't seem to be an issue with any modern HD movies or TV shows. It also doesn't seem to be an issue on my Android phone or the web - only my TV. It also seems to be all older videos I've tried and isn't yet limited to specific files or shows. It's not exactly fun when it comes to TV because I have to switch it for every single episode. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a remedy?
